(Up date November 9, 2016)
Apologies if you have received this communication already, but I wanted to take the opportunity to formally relay the Informatics’ approach for this weekend’s SA DR exercise.
It is my understanding that SA will be doing this test every year around the same date.
As we have yet to experience a successful test, AEP Informatics is opting out of formally participating in this DR exercise.
For the most part we will be leaving systems up and gracefully disabling some web services – connecting to other Ministries/Systems – as a precautionary measure to ensure that the transactional integrity of our production systems is preserved.
A fan-out text messaging process –cascading to our vendor technical leads – has been arranged for important milestones over the weekend.
This will help ensure an awareness of what has transpired prior to start of business on Monday and allow us to re-enable and monitor web service health and general connectivity.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any additional questions.
