Service Description:

This data collection contains wet areas map data derived from one metre spatial resolution digital terrain models, which were in turn interpolated from lidar ground returns. These data estimate depth to water, or the distance between the bare ground surface and the cartographically referenced water table surface below. Note that this surface stores categorical data representing broad groupings of depth to water estimates, predicted streams, and bog features, and should not be used for quantitative analyses. Continuous depth to water estimates are available. For additional information about this dataset, please contact the Forest Management Branch, Forestry Division, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Government of Alberta at AF.WetAreasMapping@gov.ab.ca. If a copy of the data is required, please contact the Data Distribution Unit, Information and Data Provisioning Services, Informatics Branch, Corporate Services Division, Alberta Environment and Parks, Government of Alberta at AEP.Data@gov.ab.ca or 780-427-7374.
